Back in Business

Is your business your baby? Do you think about it before you fall asleep, when you wake up, and even in your dreams? What would you do if, for some reason, your business had to close? Inclement weather, fire and a dozen other unexpected reasons can keep your business shuttered for days, weeks or longer. We hope you’ll never have to file a claim for your business, but just in case, we want you to get back to work as soon as possible.

If possible, try to stop any further damage, like turning off the water in case of leaks. Safety first—do not try to tackle a fire or major structural damage on your own! Make sure that you contact your agent as soon as possible after an incident. This helps us get the ball rolling on getting your claim processed.

Once the dust has settled, it’s time to take stock of the damage. Make a detailed list of items and equipment that are damaged or destroyed so you can be compensated accordingly for covered losses. Finally, keep track of any repairs or cleanup that you do and how long it takes.
